Our Infection Control Protocols

Our practice follows stringent infection control procedures recommended by various federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These guidelines encompass:

• Disinfectant Hand Soap: We use high-quality disinfectant hand soap to ensure the cleanliness of our hands before and after every patient interaction.
• Protective Gear: Our dental team wears gloves, face masks, and a comprehensive protection barrier system to prevent the spread of infections.
• Surface Disinfection: All countertops and surfaces in our practice are regularly disinfected using effective chemical agents.
• Equipment Sterilization: Every piece of reusable equipment, including dental and hygiene handpieces, undergoes rigorous sterilization after each use to eliminate any risk of cross-contamination.
• Disposable Materials: We use disposable materials whenever possible to minimize the risk of infection transmission.
• Safe Sharps Disposal: Proper disposal procedures for sharps and needles are strictly followed to prevent accidents and infection.

Our commitment to infection control goes beyond the federal and provincial requirements. We employ state-of-the-art technology, such as Hydrium instrument washers, which have been proven by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) to be highly effective at removing pathogenic organic debris compared to traditional ultrasonic cleaners used in most dental offices.

Furthermore, we utilize autoclaves, devices that use steam, heat, and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses, ensuring the complete sterilization of instruments and equipment.
